Crime Scene Reconstruction

- At 8.30pm Lord Lucan arrives at the Clermont Club and chats to the doorman to establish an alibi.
- Lets himslf into the family home in Lower Belgrave Street.
- Waits in the darkened basement. Around 9.00pm he attacks nanny Sandra Rivett by mistake but is disturbed by
his wife.
- He attacks her on the stairs, she calms him down before escaping at 9.50pm to the nearby Plumbers
Arms.
- Lucan leaves the house.
- Drives to Uckfield in Sussex.
- From the home of the Maxwell-Scotts he telephones his mother the dowager Countess of Lucan.
- He later abandons his car near the ferry terminal at Newhaven.
- It is discovered there next morning.
Richard John Bingham, 7th Earl of Lucan (born 18 December 1934), known to friends as "Lucky" Lucan was
or is a missing British aristocrat who disappeared on 8 November 1974 after his children's nanny Sandra Rivett was
found murdered. Lucan's current whereabouts are unknown, and many, including his wife, presume him to be dead.
